A new research from researchers in Nigeria has found that it is illegal to use erectile dysfunction drugs in women.
The Nigerian health ministry said it has also found that some drugs may be used for treating the sexual dysfunction.
Dr. Olayo Maka, from the State University of Lagos, said that he has received many requests for drugs containing sildenafil citrate, or Viagra, to treat sexual dysfunction.
He told reporters: “The drug is not a cure for sexual problems, but the use of a drug to treat sexual problems is very illegal in Nigeria.
“The Ministry of Health has also found this in the form of ‘sex and erectile dysfunction drugs’.
“Our findings suggest that there may be a potential for the use of drugs to treat sexual dysfunction in women.”
According to Maka, most of the drugs used for treating sexual dysfunction are drugs made by pharmaceutical companies. Some of the drugs are also sold online.
He said the drugs are sold in pharmacies and are usually taken by those with a doctor's prescription.

The drugs were first made to the pharmaceutical industry in Nigeria in 2012, when the first pill was released. It was sold in two doses of 100mg and 50mg.
